Charli XCX will voice turquoise bird Willow in the movie adaptation of the famous mobile application game, in accordance with her producer John Cohen.

The pop singer posted on Twitter these days, “I’m excited to announce that the amazing @CHARLI_XCX is voicing Willow in #AngryBirdsMovie!!! More news coming soon!”
The 23-year-old pop singer and songwriter joins a cast of super starts with Blake Shelton, Jason Sudeikis, Demi Lovato, Josh Gad, and Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage.
The movie will appear in U.S. theatres starting 20 May.
Moving onto the big screen is actually no big surprise for Charli, real name Charlotte Aitchison, as she has formerly talked about her big love of films.
Calling moviemaker Sofia Coppola as one of her beloved directors ever, Charli underlined during a 2015 interview with The San Diego Union-Tribune she frequently looks to feature movies as a resource of motivation while composing music.
“Producing my first record, I was actually motivated by all the color palettes Sofia Coppola features in her movies,” she said, mentioning her 2008 album 14. “The displays in “The Virgin Suicides” where Elle Fanning is ice skating are actually incredible.”
