Aretha Franklin was forced to cancel her next concerts for health reasons. The doctors advised the 74-year old singer to take a break and relax. The corresponding statement was made by Aretha on August 22, 2016.
“Regretfully, due to doctors’ orders I will have to cancel a few concerts for the next month or so. I’m especially disappointed because two of them are among my favorite cities, Washington D.C. and New York. I don’t want to miss any.”
The jazz performer will not be performing in the next month and maybe longer.
“I decided it was time to go home and take care of myself consistent with doctors’ orders.”
The list of canceled concerts was completed by the performances of Franklin on August 26 at the Art Festival in the National Park Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia, appearance in Radio City Music Hall in New York on the anniversary evening of Tony Bennett on September 15 and solo concert on September 23.
According to preliminary data, Aretha will return to her concert activity in November.
“I thank all of my fans, friends and supporters who bought tickets. I hope to see you all soon.”
Recall that last year the singer has already had to cancel her shows in Las Vegas due to exhaustion.
