US President Barack Obama unveiled a traditional summer playlist of music, which he recommends to listen to on holiday. A selection of tracks appeared on his official Twitter page.
Like previous holiday playlists of Obama, the new collection is divided into two parts. The first is recommended for listening in the daytime, and the second – at night. They contain in total 19 and 20 songs respectively.

Obama’s daytime playlist consists of songs such as Haley (LoveHate Thing), Janelle Monae (Tightrope), Jay-Z (So Ambitious), Manu Chao (Me Gustas Tu), Aloe Blacc (The Man), Nina Simone (Sinnerman) , Prince (U Got the Look), Beach Boys (Good Vibrations), Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros (Home).
At night, the US President advises listening to D’Angelo (Lady), Caetano Veloso (Cucurrucucu Paloma), Billie Holiday (Lover Man), Method Man and Mary J. Blige (I’ll Be There for You / You’re All I Need), Janet Jackson (I Get Lonely), Esperanza Spalding (Espera), Chance the Rapper (Acid Rain) and War (All Day Music).
If the daytime playlist of the US President includes primarily eclectic music styles, the nighttime playlist is dominated by jazz and soul.
Obama’s new playlist will be likely his last in the status of the US president. The presidential election is scheduled for November 8.
