New tour of Placebo, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the release of the album ‘Placebo’, unsuccessfully started in Denmark. The leader of the band Brian Molko sat on the edge of the stage and began talking with fans being extremely peaceful and painfully unready of speech.
The band performed two songs – ‘Pure Morning’ and ‘Loud Like Love’ – and then the soloist had left the stage and went backstage, referring to the fact that he was taking leg ill.
After a while it became clear that the concert will not take place: the guitarist Stefan Olsdal came on stage and apologized to the public and then workers began to dismantle the stage.
Members of the group commented the situation:
“Here is an official statement. We wish to sincerely apologize to all fans who attended the gig in Aarhus last night. Brian suffered a severe and unexpected reaction to some new medication which meant he was unable to continue with the show.
We are saddened and extremely disappointed to let you down on the very first show of our tour. We will endeavor to reschedule the show at a later date but in the meantime, tickets will be refundable from point of purchase. Tonight’s Copenhagen show will go ahead as planned.”
