Roger Waters announces 2017 North American tour

Roger Waters 2017 North American tour

Roger Waters will hit the road across North America in 2017. The British musician has announced the dates of his tour named ‘Us + Them’ on October 13 in honor of the famous song of Pink Floyd ‘Us and Them’. These will be his first solo concerts, no way connected with the songs of Pink Floyd, from the beginning of the millennium, and the first new tour after a three-year-old show ‘Wall’.

The first American concert will be held on May 26 in St. Louis, and the last – October 28 of the next year – in Vancouver. Waters will give 40 concerts in 36 cities.

It is possible that the tour will not be limited only to these shows and only one continent, as Roger said he plans 200 concerts with the new program.

“My plan absolutely is to move on. I’ve got a lot to say, and I’ve got a huge amount of material. I’ve got a whole new record [coming out next year]. Obviously I won’t play the whole new record live, but I will definitely be playing some of the music of it. The balance between old and new material in next year’s set will be “most likely 80/20, I would think.”

A new studio album of Waters is not yet complete, but he promised that the record is likely to be released by the beginning of the tour. Roger has not released solo albums since ‘Amused to Death’ of 1992. He is working on new material with a producer Nigel Godrich, known for cooperation with Radiohead.
